1996         Selected by the Texas Society of CPAs to serve as one of the presenters for its inaugural national eight-hour live telecast of the CPE program, “Accounting and Auditing Update.”

 

1994         Selected by the Texas Society of CPAs as the State of Texas nominee for the American Institute of CPAs Educator of the Year Award.

 

1992         Selected by Westcott Communications to serve as a financial accounting expert on its CPA Report, a national continuing professional education network for CPA firms, and on its AFTN Network, a national continuing education network for business enterprises.  (Four separate 30-minute shows taped and aired.)

 

1991         Selected by the Faculty Senate as one of three Texas Tech professors to be nominated for the Piper Award (a state-wide teaching award).

 

1991         Selected as a finalist for the Spencer A. Wells Faculty Award (one of three finalists – a university-wide award).

 

1990         Selected as honorary member of Texas Tech Chapter of Golden Key (a national honorary).

 

1989         Selected for the second time by Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa as one of five Outstanding Professors at Texas Tech to be recognized during Faculty Recognition Week.

 

1989         Selected by the administration of Texas Tech to address all new Texas Tech faculty on “Guides to Successful Teaching at Texas Tech University.”

 

1987         Selected to teach the College of Business Administration’s new course for all teaching assistants on how to be an effective teacher.

1986         Outstanding Faculty Member, College of Business Administration (selected by students in COBA in an election conducted by the COBA Student Council).
